The Problem

The CFPOA claims that they have unilateral authority to spend up to $350,00 of the residents' money, without the consent of the community's residents, is solely based on the resident's deed and that they live in the area.   Many of the residents never signed any paperwork or were forced to sign "something" before Connestee Falls would allow them access to their homes and property they purchased.  Residents have complained this forced requirement typically happened decades ago, and if it questionably gave the CFPOA any authority to provide "maintenance" should not be relevant to the drastic expenses the CFPOA plans to force on their residents today.  Giving the CFPOA the benefit of doubt, if these agreements exists, that agreement of residents to help pay for maintenance for a developing subdivision 40 years ago should not automatically give the CFPOA unlimited control over its residents today.

With projects like the new Clubhouse, broken into many phases, the CFPOA could expand its unregulated spending power to millions of dollars under the generic term "maintenance".  This scenario has already been entertained by the CFPOA with spending soaring to 13 million dollars.  The CFPOA has also requested raises and bonuses for its staff and members of the board.  All this during a financial recession not seen since the Great Depression of the 1920's and with many residents retired or on fixed incomes.   Connestee Falls owns several pieces of property in the community that could be sold to help pay for these elaborate upgrades, they have refused.  The CFPOA insists on placing these flamboyant expenses squarely on the backs of its residents.  The CFPOA has already placed liens on several homes and properties belonging to residents that did not bend to their will.

Connesteefalls.net is highly suspect of the CFPOA's claim of ultimate control over its residents without representation and is currently working hard to verify these claims.  Connesteefalls.net greatly encourages the Connestee Falls residents and other interested parties to bring their individual issues to this forum to contribute and help address this problem.  Only united can the residents be a strong voice in deciding the future of this community.

Some individual residents have requested copies of the paperwork/contracts/proof from the CFPOA.  To date, those requests have been denied.
